Portland Councilor Considers Firearm for Protection After Democratic Colleagues Protest ICE

REPORTER: “We’re getting more reactions after those chaotic moments that Portland city hall led to arrests, Wednesday night, a group of unruly protesters stormed the council floor and some city leaders feared for their safety council. That night was set to discuss those unspent funds. Era was talking about before antis protesters interrupted proceedings, police arrested for people for trespass. Being interfering with a peace officer and criminal misconduct, it’s not the first time this has happened. Point six spoke with council of the Smith was even mentioned, buying a gun to protect herself. It has crossed my mind over the last few months about getting a concealed weapon permit, but I haven’t gone that far yet and we need to make sure that violence does not happen at city hall. I am committed to making sure city hall is a safe place and that people feel comfortable coming to city hall in making sure that their voices are heard.
