Gov. Beshear: I’ve Vetoed Every Anti-LGBTQ and Anti-DEI Bill that’s Come Across My Desk in Kentucky; ‘It’s the Right Thing To Do’
RUSH EXCERPT:
BESHEAR: "That other 20% are your convictions. It’s what you believe in. I’m going to stand up against discrimination in any form, regardless of how it polls in Kentucky or anywhere else, because it’s the right thing to do. So I vetoed every anti-LGBTQ+ bill that’s come across my desk in Kentucky. I vetoed every anti gi bill that’s come across my desk in Kentucky. And I’ve done that because it’s the right thing to do. And you only get so much time in this job. You ought to be doing the right thing every time. And I will tell you, the right thing is typically the right thing, politically, at least if you’re willing to explain it. Because people like people of conviction, even if they maybe disagree with it. But as we talked about, I think the last time I was on your show, you got to respect voters enough to explain your why. Most of those bills that that I veto, it’s because I believe all children are children of God.”
