Yemisi Egbewole on Tariffs Ruling: The Refund Issue Will Be the Mess Here, Dems Must Stick to Affordability

EGBEWOLE: "Right and the argument here  isn’t whether tariffs are good  or bad.  it’s whether the president had  the authority.  and in some cases, tariffs are  helpful.  it was the way that the  president did this that the  Supreme Court disagreed with.  the reasoning for it.  but important to note for  Democrats that there are  certain American companies like  Costco that filed a lawsuit in  December that have taken issue  with the president’s stance on  this.  and if we’re all running on the  idea of affordability, well  then we have to look at how  American companies that employ  Americans and provide products  that support American companies  are able to get their money  back from this.  I think going back to justice  cavanagh’s point, the refund  issue is going to be the mess  here.  and so Democrats really have to  make sure they stick to  affordability and making sure  American companies see those  profits back."
