GOP Rep. Lawler: We Have to Find a Way to Rein in the Access for Young People to Social Media Apps

‘And one of the things that, frankly, I will actually agree with Kathy Hochul on is the effort to ban cell phones during school hours’

EXCERPT:

LAWLER: “This, you know, gets into, obviously, government oversight, Section 230, you know, federal law. And this has been a big back and forth between, you know, big tech and the government. I do think making -- this case is a landmark case in many respects. I think the outcome of this case is going to have a real impact on how this is dealt with, both legislatively and from the standpoint of the social media companies. They're going to have to respond to it. So the outcome of this case is really going to be very consequential and have a domino effect on how we move forward. But I do think, Harris, we have to find a way forward to rein in the access for young people to these applications.”
