James Talarico Claims CBS’s Decision Not to Air His Colbert Interview Was ‘Government Censorship’
EXCERPT:
TALARICO: “Well, we scheduled the interview with 'The Late Show' weeks ago and then a few days beforehand they informed us that CBS wasn't going to allow it to air and that it would be on YouTube. And I was really proud of Stephen Colbert and 'The Late Show' for talking about that decision by CBS on the air and alerting Americans to this threat to our First Amendment, to our freedom of speech, because a threat to any of our First Amendment rights is a threat to all of our First Amendment rights. And there's a reason it's the First Amendment and not the second or the third or the fourth or the fifth, because it allows us to safeguard all our other rights, all our other freedoms. And so I'm really glad that so many Americans, Democrats and Republicans alike, are speaking out against this kind of government censorship.”
