Gov. Beshear: U.S. Leadership Right Now Is ‘Using Faith to Hurt People’ and ‘Consolidate Power’

‘I think it’s very telling how people who claim faith use it, but I’m not willing to let it be hijacked’

EXCERPT:

BESHEAR: “When I look at leadership right now, especially using faith to hurt people, using faith to consolidate power, if you believe in the Bible, you believe that Jesus was the most powerful person that has ever walked the face of this earth. Could have been a king. He could have been the Prince of Power, but he chose to be the Prince of Peace. And so I think it's very telling how people who claim faith use it, but I'm not willing to let it be hijacked. I'm willing to speak out for the right things and to make sure that, again, whether you're a person of faith or no faith, we're living like the human beings that we're supposed to be, and that's caring for your neighbor, and that's who the American people are deep down.”
