GREER: “Even if the tariffs affected prices in the way people say, which they don’t, right? All these studies are overblown. But even if they did, it’s usually a one-time price effect, not a sequential price effect over 14 months. I mean, it’s just crazy. If you look at inflation, the actual inflation for manufactured goods, right, which is the bulk of what’s being tariffed coming in, was at only 1.1 percent over the past 12 months. So, the idea that the tariffs are inflationary are totally belied by the data.”
