Byron York: Gavin Newsom Going to Germany to Compare ICE to Nazis Was ‘Beyond the Pale’
EXCERPT:
YORK: “Yeah. You know, we cover politics. You have to develop a pretty high tolerance for the outrageous. But this was really outrageous. You mentioned the old saying that politics ends at the water’s edge, that is, that American politicians shouldn’t travel overseas to bash the United States. Well, that’s long gone. But even with that, this was beyond the pale. And we have become desensitized to many Democrats and those on the left referring to Donald Trump as Hitler, referring to Republicans or MAGA supporters as Nazis. This has become kind of standard rhetoric in the United States, but to go to Germany and to say this and to compare the enforcement of federal immigration law in the United States to Germany in the 1930s and 1940s was really beyond the pale.”
