MS NOW’s Hillyard: ‘Very Little Indication’ that Trump ‘Is Willing to Cave to Any of These Demands’ to Reform DHS
EXCERPT:
HILLYARD: “The president was willing to have the longest shutdown in American history this last fall, and the stakes of that were much higher, because it was a shutdown that spawned federal agencies well beyond those within the Department of Homeland Security. And I think that we should pay close attention to the fact that the president of the United States has said very little about this impasse in the DHS shutdown. He's not gotten into the weeds on it. He has talked repeatedly in past days and posted on social media about the SAVE Act, which would require voter ID laws across the country. But that is a separate conversation from the DHS funding one. And so I think that we have seen very little indication from the president that he is willing to cave to any of these demands.”
