Gretchen Whitmer: ‘If You Say No to Canada, You’re Saying Yes to China’

‘I think that same rational can be applied to our all of our allies, our European allies’

EXCERPT:

WHITMER: “I am the governor of Michigan. We are intertwined with Canada. Our economies are absolutely intertwined. And I can tell you that the hurt at the beginning, it has turned to anger and has created a lot of — a lot of stress in our state economy. We’re feeling it and, as we’ve said all along, if you say no to Canada, you’re saying yes to China. And I think that same Rationale can be applied to all of our allies, our European allies. We are already feeling the brunt of it in our — in our day to day. We know that the largest bridge, the largest transit between nations for the U.S. runs through the city of Detroit into Windsor, Canada.”
