Concha: If Requiring ID to Vote Is the Hill the Dems Want to Die On, ‘It Shows They Are High on Their Own Supply’
EXCERPT:
CONCHA: “We've seen this movie before, John, right? I mean, four or five years ago, we heard this hyperbole, this inaccurate reference to Jim Crow 2.0 when it comes to so-called voter suppression. I mean, look at the state of Georgia in 2021. They passed something called the Voter Integrity Act. And President Biden, Vice President Harris at the time evoked Jim Crow and many in the media echoed that sentiment. Then, John, a funny thing happened. Georgia held actual elections under the new voting laws and every voting record it had in modern history were blown out in terms of turnout. No one reported anything around suppression or not being able to vote. And before this happened, we saw Major League Baseball, you remember this? All-Star game was taken out of Atlanta because of this ridiculous rhetoric around Jim Crow 2.0. And many businesses, ironically, including those run by minorities, were hurt in the process. We've heard the stats over and over again by Peter, by the House speaker, on other networks. Nearly 9 in 10 basically now Americans support voter ID, 85 percent, 84 percent in the Fox poll, including an overwhelming majority of blacks and Latinos, even Democratic voters. If this is the hill the blue team wants to die on, it shows they're probably just, I don't know, high on their own supply at this point.”
