MERKLEY: “I want to just summarize the reason, and I can hear the angst in your voice over the Epstein files. The reason people are bothered is because last year you said you’d cut off all contact. But there are eight incidences of interaction in the files after 2005. In 2009, you wanted to speak with Epstein. You asked for his phone number. In 2011, there was the appointment for drinks. In 2012, you were planning a trip to the private island with your family. That sounds like, you know, somebody you know well enough to call up and say, let’s get our families together. Let’s visit each other.”
