Christopher O’Leary on New Images of ‘Subject’ in Nancy Guthrie Search: ‘That Means He’s Going To Be the Focus of the Investigation’
‘They’ll pull available video feeds from the vicinity’
EXCERPT:
JANSING: “Chris, I want to emphasize this is expected to be a photo of a potential subject. They are not using the word suspect. One, what's the difference? But two, could this be the breakthrough that folks have been waiting for?”
O'LEARY: “It certainly could. The FBI uses the term subject. We don't use suspect. So in FBI vernacular, that's significant. We're not saying person of interest, you know, somebody that we would like to question, somebody who might have information. So if they actually call him a subject, that means he's going to be the focus of the investigation.”
