Crockett: ‘There Were These Images of Officers on Horseback that Were Beating Haitians Back into the Water’

CROCKETT: "And the final point that I typically make is around understanding the root causes of migration. If people will remember, there were a lot of people that said that Vice President Harris was the border czar, and that wasn’t really her title, but she was given some responsibilities as it relates to the border, and it was more so to understand root causes of migration. So, the example that I usually use, specifically in Texas, is when the Haitians showed up at our border, there were these images of officers on horseback that were beating Haitians back into the water, and I was like, 'No one ever asked the question of why are the Haitians showing up at our border?' And I said, if they would have asked that question., they would have found out that their government had been overthrown and that it was gang members that were running their country."
