EXCERPT:
HOMAN: "Look, it’s tragic, and I’ve said from March that the hateful rhetoric doesn’t decline there will be bloodshed. I’ve seen it before, and unfortunately, I was right. There’s been a lot of bloodshed. Look, you have to put yourself in the mind of the officer, all right? You’re in a city where there’s protests, interference, impediment like these two ladies were doing before the incident occurred. You’re in a city where law enforcement is sporadic. You have threats up over 1300%, actually assaulting ICE Officers. You have the woman behind the wheel of a 4,000 pound vehicle and an agent going toward you. I truly believe this officer, in his mind, thought his mind was in danger which allows him to use lethal force. Now, I’ll say this. Let the investigation play out, right? There’s a lot of video we probably haven’t seen that the FBI has that we don’t. Where’s the forensics and the ballistics? That hasn’t been released. How about the officer’s statement, his own statement? We need to let this play out, but while we’re doing that we’ve got to stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It’s just ridiculous. It’s going to infuriate people more which means it’s going to be more insults like this because the hateful rhetoric not only continuing and it’s tripled down and doubled down."
