Dan Henninger: The Leverage, I Guess, Is a Stranglehold on the Venezuelan Economy, We Now Will Take Control of the Oil Industry
RUSH EXCERPT:
HENNINGER: "The leverage I guess is, as Trump put it with a stranglehold on the Venezuelan economy. We are not going to as he says take control the oil industry. That remains to be seen if the oil gets moved out of Venezuela. They are continuing to capture oil tankers outside of Venezuela Venezuela. They are probably having an effect on the revenue stream that Venezuela has. They have got to be aware of that. Trump announced as well he was holding off on the second wave of attacks."
GIGOT: "Canceling those second waves of attacks."
HENNINGER: "Is a one one tries to hypothe what that could be there probably would have been and is really on hold for the military barracks the interior defense ministers are running. Better there is always that threat. Be on that though I think Mary raises a good point about just how long the pressure and leverage we have can be impressed upon the regime in place. Or whether over time it is simply going to become that delcy Rodriguez and the rest of them are going to still run the country and how much interest are we going to sustain and forcing them to change question of that’s really one of the big questions that remains to be seen."
