MSNOW’s Cuetara: There Are Concerns that the Gaza Peace Efforts Are Losing Momentum

‘We are hearing from the Iranians today they are threatening to respond to that, they say the response would be harsh and regrettable’

RUSH EXCERPT:
CUETARA: "Hey, ariel. Yeah, a few headlines coming out of that meeting, the biggest having to do with Iran. President Trump threatening to strike Iran if it rebuilds its nuclear program. You’ll remember over the summer, the U.S. targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities. President Trump insisted that Iran’s nuclear program had been completely obliterated. There were questions as to whether that was true, and questions as to the extent of the damage on those nuclear facilities. President Trump now says that he is hearing that Iran has started building up its nuclear program again. He says if that’s the case, he’s not going to let it happen, that he will knock them down. And we are hearing from the Iranians today they are threatening to respond to that. They say the response would be harsh and regrettable. The other big headline coming out of that meeting between President Trump and Israeli prime minister has to do with Gaza. President Trump calling on Hamas to disarm. He says they have a very short window to disarm. You heard it in that clip there, he says. Otherwise there will be hell to pay. And this comes as they’re supposed to be moving into phase two of the U.S. brokered ceasefire. The U.S. and Israel want to see Hamas disarm as part of phase two. Hamas wants to see Israeli troops withdraw from Gaza to make way for that multinational peacekeeping force that they agreed to. Unclear what the timeline would be for that. And President Trump was asked about that yesterday during that meeting. He wouldn’t comment on that. So there are real concerns that this cease fire, you know, it’s a fragile ceasefire. There are concerns that the peace efforts are losing momentum and that this could all just fall apart."
