Charlie Dent: If Dems Retake the House, They Should Focus on Core Issues, Not Impeachment

‘I think any talk right now of impeachment is terribly ill-advised and could actually harm their efforts at reclaiming the House’

EXCERPT:

DENT: “During a midterm cycle like this, typically the party out of power, the Democrats, could pick up around 30 seats and it's not a particularly bold prediction to say Democrats are going to win back the House. They probably will. We just don't know by how much. So, but impeachment though, you're going into the last two years of the president's final term, and so really Democrats should focus on whatever their core issues are going to be, whether it's going to be health care, you know, inflation, the cost of everything, affordability. They should be laser focused on that and they can use -- should they get the majority, they will be able to use their power, their gavels, to exercise real oversight of the Trump administration and basically then set themselves up for 2028 going into the presidential election. So I think any talk right now of impeachment is terribly ill-advised and could actually harm their efforts at reclaiming the House, which at this moment looks quite likely.”
