STRASSEL: "I think he was one 100% wrong. Trump was on the bout his name might not of been on it but he was a very much the subject in Virginia and in New Jersey where the Democrat candidate talked about him incessantly where they said their main job would be to protect the states from him. Blamed him for the federal shutdown. Talked about some of his policies that have not been sitting as well with voters in particular deportation for instance and then hammered home affordability message which is not something you have hurt as much from Republicans about and certainly not in Virginia from the Republican candidate there. This was something we know that motivated we know from the turnout numbers in the way people voted very much motivated people to get out to the polls and so he was someone that was in the election. I think it’s a warning sign for Republicans about what voters are asking them to do."
