Fmr. Sen. Tester: This Is the Danger of Having Trump Directing States to Redistrict, ‘The Other Party Is Going to Do the Same Thing’

TESTER: "Well, look, I think it goes back to the to the point of what what what the laws are. And I think this is the danger when you have a president of the United States directing Texas or Indiana or any other state to redistrict for the sake of getting more seats in Congress to hold a majority of the power, the other party is going to do the same thing. It’s just the way it is. And and you got to do something to get the attention of the White House. And, and right now, they tend to do whatever they want in any different area. The previous segment on the Fed is another prime example of the White House just doing whatever they want without regard to the law. So what I would say is this Abigail Spanberger is a great person. I know her. She’s going to make a great governor, and she wants to do the right thing. And I would just say to Democrats, you know, try, try to hold the high ground. But by the same token, you’ve got to get some Republicans to join you in a bipartisan effort to hold this administration accountable, which has not happened in Congress at all."
