I’m Not Going to Disclose Those Things Because ‘Negotiations Can Fall Apart:’ Marco Rubio on What Was Discussed at the Alaska Summit

‘What’s more important is that the negotiations work, and you’re seeing the leaks that are completely inaccurate’

RUSH EXCERPT:
RUBIO: "I’m not going to disclose those things because if we do you can imagine negotiations can fall apart. I know everyone wants to know what’s happening and to a certain degree is important, but what’s more important is that the negotiations work and you’re seeing the leaks that are completely inaccurate and sometimes you see leaks out there that undermine the negotiations. In order for them to be successful allow, require for us to allow both sides to agree to potential concessions or discuss potential concessions without it finding its way in the public sphere and creating all kinds of interm problems from this country. We all know the elements of such a deal. They have to talk about what the territories will look like and what the border lines will look like at the end of the conflict. There has to be talk about Ukraine’s legitimate desire in the long-term to make sure they don’t get invaded again. There has to be talk about how Ukraine will be rebuilt and how do you rebuild a country that’s been attacked over the last three and a half years. These are key elements and we understand that. If there’s going to be a deal, each side will have to give up on something. That’s just a fact."
