Dem Texas Rep. James Talarico: Ken Paxton Is Probably the Reason Why We’ve Gotten Multiple Bomb Threats at Our Illinois Hotel

EXCERPT:

TALARICO: “Well, we’re here in Illinois and thankful to the people of Illinois for their hospitality and their friendship at this critical moment in our country’s history. You know, my colleagues and I have gotten a lot of threats from some very powerful people. Donald Trump has threatened to send the FBI to come find us. Greg Abbott has threatened to remove us from our duly elected positions in the Texas Legislature, and Ken Paxton sent out a tweet to his many followers asking them to ‘hunt us down.’ And it’s probably why we’ve gotten multiple bomb threats at the hotel where we’re staying. Thankfully, my colleagues and I are safe and we are undeterred because this is a lot bigger than us. It’s a lot bigger than our security. This is about whether or not people will have fair representation, whether there will be fair elections in 2026, whether people, all kinds of people, Democrats, independents and Republicans alike, whether they can hold the most powerful politicians in our country accountable. That’s what this is all about and it’s why we remained dead-set on our goal to end this corrupt process and kill these rigged maps.”
