Larry Kudlow on Scott Bessent Ruled Out as Fed Chair: ‘I Would Bet on One of the Two Kevins’
‘He mentioned in this interview, there were four names’
EXCERPT:
KUDLOW: “That’s possible, Sandra, but not likely. I think it’s really coming down — now, he mentioned in this interview that there were four names, so perhaps you have an ‘05’ to hang on to on that forecast, but I don’t think so. I think it’s going to come down. Now, let me raise this point without getting too much in the weeds. But there’s an open seat. Kugler left. She left to go back to teaching, whatever. He could appoint somebody, another person. Not one of the Kevins. He could appoint somebody to that seat, it would be there about four months, OK. Or, hang on, he could appoint someone and designate that person to be his next chair of the Fed. So that would be extended for quite some time.”
