Sen. Coons on the Jobs Report: If We Don’t Like the Numbers, ‘We Don’t Fire the Messenger,’ We Work Harder

‘Trump’s response was to fire the head of the bureau of labor statistics’

RUSH EXCERPT:
COONS: "The jobs report that came out today revised downward the monthly jobs growth for two months and three months ago. And President Trump’s response was to fire the head of the bureau of labor statistics. I worked for a global manufacturing business. One of the things that makes the United States a trustworthy place for investment and for business is that we trust the numbers. If we don’t like the numbers, we don’t fire the messenger. We work harder. I think this is a excuse me I think it harms our credibility."
