Dem Rep. Garcia Praises Hakeem Jeffries’ Marathon Speech in the House: ‘We’re Incredibly Proud of the Leader’

GARCIA: "Yeah. I mean, look, we're incredibly obviously proud of the leader. I've been in that chamber. We've all been with him there. He's been now at it, I think, for over seven hours. And he's out there not just speaking against a horrific bill for the American public, but he's also giving and creating time for folks to flood these offices. Calls are going into members' offices. We understand there are people calling into some of these offices that you're all talking about from the Republican side. And he's really, I think, bringing life to important stories from across the country. A lot of us expected him to do something like this because he is that kind of a leader. But it's also really important for people to know that if this thing passes, 17 million people are going to likely lose their health care. Millions were going to lose their food assistance. ICE is going to be able to double the amount of detentions that they're doing across this country targeting, as we all know, sometimes U.S. citizens and people with no due process, and all for the billionaires who are getting massive tax cut. And so, I mean, we're incredibly proud of the leader.”
