Nat’l Security Expert: I Don’t See Any Chance that Iran Is Going to Return to the Negotiating Table

‘Certainly not when they’re being bombed’

EXCERPT:

CIRINCIONE: “As your previous guests were discussing on this show, there’s a wide range of targets all over the world you could be targeting to inflict pain on the United States, not to mention the troops in the region. Of course, this kind of talk is going to incentivize Iran to take more drastic action. It’s not going to convince them to come back to the table. But that’s the way Trump thinks. He acts like a mob boss, that increasing the threats will force his opponents to back down. Iran is a long, proud country with millennia of history, 92 million people, rich oil reserves, a determined leadership, unpopular, but still quite strong and firmly in control. I don’t see any chance that they’re going to be willing to return to the negotiating table anytime in the near future, certainly not when they’re being bombed."
