Ted Cruz Calls for the U.S. to Take Out Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Site: ‘Makes a Lot of Sense’

CRUZ: “In terms of direct U.S. involvement, right now all of the bombing is being done by Israel. They’ve done an incredibly effective job at taking out the top senior leadership of the Iranian military, those who would prosecute a war. They’ve also taken out a number of the Iranian nuclear scientists, and they’ve taken out multiple military sites, missile launch sites, missile defense sites and nuclear research sites. All of those have been unbelievably effective. The one remaining site that Israel is not able to take out is a site called Fordow. Fordow is built into the base of a mountain, and it is a nuclear weapons research site that was put there so that it could not easily be subject to aerial bombardment. Israel lacks the technology to take Fordow out because it’s so deep in the mountain. America has that technology. We have 30,000-pound bunker buster bombs that can take out Fordow. And I think the president is seriously considering right now using those bombs for a limited strike to take out that nuclear weapons lab.”
