Ayman Mohyeldin on Trump Retweeting Biden Clone Post: ‘Cognitive Decline Are Constantly Coming to the Forefront’
EXCERPT:
MOHYELDIN: "I agree with you to some extent, but I also worry that sometimes, by ignoring the absurdity of it, we’re doing two things. One, we’re normalizing and giving him a pass where it was like, 'Oh, it’s Trump. He just — he’s on Twitter, he’s on TRUTH Social, whatever.' And so in some ways, the media then just kind of ignores the absurdity of the things that he’s doing, which we should always be at the forefront of reminding viewers and audience and listeners and readers about what he does. But I also think, as you mentioned, at 10:00 on a Saturday night, the president of the United States is retweeting or reposting, whatever it’s called, you know, conspiracy theories. And I think, given the fact that he is the oldest president to sit in the White House, given the fact that we have seen him ramble on and on, sometimes making incoherent statements, mixing up names of people all of the time, rambling, that these questions about his mental capability and his cognitive decline are constantly coming to the forefront of how he expresses himself.”
