Jolly on Trump’s New Tariffs Threats on the E.U.: We Have to Revisit the Conversation That Trump Is Unstable and Unwell
EXCERPT:
JOLLY: “Look, I think there are weeks where we have to recognize, revisit the conversation that he is increasingly unstable and arguably unwell. And the problem is he is able to wield executive power in areas of national and economic security. And, Nicolle, if you were — if you were trying to destroy a nation from the outside, but much less from within, you would do a couple of things. You would first break our security alliances, our security alliances with the West, our long-held allies. You would empower our enemies. We have seen that in the first 100 plus days. You would also disrupt our domestic economy. That is essentially what he is attacking at this point, to your point. And, third, you would break the ability of the government to provide services to its people, and that is complete disruption not only of government, but of culture and of society. And Donald Trump seems to not care about the fallout from this.”
