State Dep’t Unsure if Obama’s Argentina Ambassador Nominee Speaks Spanish
State Dept doesn’t know if Obama’s nominee for Ambassador to Argentina speaks Spanish (Capitol City Project)
Today, the State Department was asked if President Obama’s nominee for Ambassador to Argentina speaks Spanish. They could not answer the question.
“Do you know if– we learned that Noah Mamet, the nominee to be Ambassador to Argentina, has never even set foot in the country of Argentina- do you know if he speaks Spanish?,” a reporter asked.
“I don’t have his personal biography in front of me, but what I will convey is — as I’ve said before — judging somebodies effectiveness, or what role they’ll play, or how strong of an Ambassador they’ll be, you can’t do until they spend some time working on the job in the country,” the State Department responded.
