Dem Rep. Crow: Democratic Party Is ‘the Party of Working People’

CROW: “Now, there’s great Democrats doing amazing things in a lot of places around the country, but clearly in the areas where we need to win, which are red areas and Trump areas, to rebuild political power and stop Donald Trump and to save our country, the project of my lifetime, we need to reach these folks, which means that culture issues and issues of identity are very important. And it means, you know, listen, I’m not an economist, right? I grew up working construction. I started working when I was 15 at Arby’s and at McDonald’s. I have worked my entire life since I was 15. What I know is the people in those areas, the people that I grew up with, they don’t want solutions. They don’t want somebody to tell them exactly how to live their life or to give them a handout. They just want a level playing field. They just want the opportunity, and that’s what the Democratic Party actually is. It is the party of working people, right? We are going to level the playing field and we’re going to ensure fairness so that people can work hard and make their life better.”
