HOTEZ: “There's this thing called H5N1 that's affecting cattle and poultry, and now there's been 70 human cases so far. There's no human-to-human transmission. But that could happen, and it could happen over the next couple of years. And so we're going to need new vaccines for that, and that can only come through support from the National Institutes of Health. So this is absolutely vital, not only for the health of our nation, but also to protect our whole nation's biosecurity. This is not the thing you want to shut down.”
