Tom Cotton: We Should No Longer Allow Scientists from Adversarial Nations into U.S. Labs

‘I think most Americans think this is common sense’

EXCERPT:

COTTON: “Many people are familiar with the Los Alamos lab because of the role it played in the Manhattan Project, but we have several other labs around the country that are on the cutting edge, doing nuclear weapons research, doing quantum computing or artificial intelligence research, looking into missile defenses that might go into the Golden Dome system that President Trump is promoting. I think most Americans would be shocked to know that more than 8,000 scientists from places like China and Russia and other adversarial nations were admitted into those national labs last year. That's the case year after year after year. Suffice it to say, communist China is not letting American scientists go into their cutting-edge labs. I don’t remember any American scientist being allowed into the Wuhan lab to identify the origins of the Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic. My bill simply says that we should no longer allow scientists from adversarial nations, like China or North Korea or Iran, into these national labs."
