Chad Wolf: Trump’s Messaging on Immigration Raids Is ‘an Education Campaign’
EXCERPT:
WOLF: “I think there’s a couple of different ways to look at it. One is an education campaign, because I think there are some on the left and others that want people to think that the only individuals coming into the country are women and children. And if you take enforcement action against them, then somehow you’re cruel and unusual. And I think what the White House and others are trying to do is there’s actually some very bad individuals in the United States that have come in, whether it’s the last four years or whenever, that are — that are in your communities. They are sex offenders. They are convicted criminals. They picked up someone on the terror watch list as well in the last — in the last week or so. There are bad individuals. So I think part of this is educating the American people that it’s not, you know, the sympathetic what you see, women and children — although there are those that across that border, without a doubt — but a lot of these children fall between 15 and 17. And in — in South America, Central America, that is military age. That is recruitment for gangs. And a lot of them come over that way. And so I think part of it is educating the American people about what’s going on, who are they picking up.”
