Dem Rep. Gregory Meeks: If Saving Ukrainian Lives Means Concessions, We Should Let Them Keep Dying
EXCERPT:
MEEKS: “I hope that some of my colleagues who talk about the timing of the attack was being approved remember, there was a long pause because of my Republican colleagues who refused to fund Ukraine. There was that long pause that gave Russia an advantage that it currently has. This tries to now level that playing field. That long is almost eight months of which we were bickering back and forth because Republicans wouldn't agree to fund it. And now, you know, you're hearing from the administration, the incoming administration, I think that's what the president's son is talking about, he's not saying how it will be done because I believe and many believe that what he talks about saving lives means that giving away the sovereign territory of Ukraine. That's not the way to do that.”
