Richard Haass: There Is Probably Not a Lot of Hostages Left Who Are Alive in Gaza

‘I think the tragic reality is there is probably not a lot of hostages left who are alive’

EXCERPT:

HAASS: "Look, Mika, you're right. I think what's increasingly the tragic reality is there's probably not a lot of hostages left who are alive. I think that's increasingly the operating assumption. There are people in Israel, who's saying let's just have a ceasefire. We've reached the point of diminishing returns and let's get the hostages back. Let's get an accounting. Let's get all the -- the hostages back. That is one school of thought. The other, as Joe was suggesting, is allow this to go on longer to further degrade Hamas, in part on the assumption that most of the hostages are never coming back alive.”
