Pfizer CEO: ‘We’re Proud To Say We Saved the World from Covid’

BOURLA: “No — first of all, I’m very encouraged with the results of this quarter, and it was for us a year of execution. And, you know, when you start your year with so good results, it’s always very, very helpful. Actually, the results were very good in all lines. We beat the analysts’ expectations by $1 billion in sales. We had way better growth margins. And of course, as you said, we had very good cost containment. All of that resulted in a significant [inaudible] to billion dollars, which was very significant. So, moving ahead for us, it’s just continue executing the five things that we’re going to make the difference this year. Seagen acquisition in oncology, it has worked, it is our new Covid. So, we did what we did with Covid. We are very proud to save the world, but it is behind us now. We want to do once more and I think oncology is our best chance to do it.”
