MSNBC’s Stengel: Biden’s ‘Historic’ Trip to Kyiv ‘Like When JFK Went to Berlin in 1963’
‘Chris, I think it’s historic’
EXCERPT:
STENGEL: "Chris, I think it's historic. It's like when JFK went to Berlin in 1963. When Ronald Reagan went to West Berlin in 1987, and said, 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear -- tear down this wall.' It sends a powerful message, a powerful message to Moscow that we are there to stay, a powerful message to our European NATO allies that were there, that an American president went into a war zone without American troops on the ground. I think it's powerful, and -- and I think we do have to stay the course. It's not just symbolism, its actions.”
