Michael Steele: The Spring for Putin Is Going To Be a Lot Rougher than He Can Imagine
EXCERPT:
STEELE: “Can the allies hold together in a unified front when winter comes because winter is coming. And so I think that’s going to be an important feature for the Biden Administration to make sure that the economic toll that can come from Putin messing around with the oil and gas markets, bringing pressure to bear there. Yeah, there’s saber-rattling with nuclear threats, but I don’t know if people really believe it’s reached that point, you know, elevating on DEFCON 2, if you will, in that regard. I think the winter is his play, and the question is how do the allies put together sort of a block-and-tackle on the winter front to make it through the winter? If that happens, if they’re able to do that successfully, I think the spring for Putin is going to be a hell of a lot rougher than he can imagine."
