Lincoln Project’s Wilson: Putin ‘Fanboy’ Trump Pushed Phony Conspiracies About Biden and Ukraine
EXCERPT:
WILSON: “You know, Trump's got a fantasy version of what he would do and he’s like I’m the smartest, I'm the strongest. Putin would have bowed to me. We saw though in four years of Donald Trump in office and a year before that in the campaign was that Donald Trump was starstruck by Putin. That he was a fanboy of Putin. That he treated Vladimir Putin with -- with respect, and he treated our European allies with contempt. He treated Putin as a genius. I mean, let’s not forget, the night of the war, the Ukraine-Russia conflict, Donald Trump said that Vladimir Putin was savvy. That it was a genius move. That he got an entire country for $2 and sanctions. So, the reality of what Trump would do is he would roll over, he would’ve immediately said there’s nothing I can do about it. Sorry. Vladimir Putin is my friend, I respect him. He likes me, therefore I like him, and he would’ve set Ukraine on fire. And let's remember, Donald Trump cut off the shipment of weapons that Ukraine needed to defend itself because Ukraine refused to engage in a phony conspiracy where they would have investigated Joe Biden over a series of ludicrous accusations that Trump’s conspiracy folks wanted to -- to push out there.”
