CNN Contributor Calls Warriors Co-Owner’s Comments on China Abuses Are ‘Pretty Insensitive’
EXCERPT:
McENROE: "Pretty insensitive for those comments to come from someone who is obviously a very successful businessman, a minority owner. The Golden State Warriors immediately put out a statement, John, saying, 'This gentleman has nothing to do with the day-to-day operations of the Warriors and doesn’t reflect at all about how we feel about a situation like this around the world.' So, I don't know what he was saying. I guess he was saying later in the podcast, which I listened to, John, that he was sort of comparing — we shouldn’t be talking about situations in other parts of the world when we have our own issues in our own country. I don’t think anybody would deny that we have issues in our own country. There are issues all around the world, but that doesn’t mean you can’t speak out about situations that are happening. Clearly, what’s happening with the Uighurs in China is very troublesome, and I don’t see why any normal human being couldn't be able to talk about that as well."
