Amanda Carpenter: I’m Pro-Life, but Texas Abortion Law ‘Does Not Foster a Culture of Life’
EXCERPT:
CARPENTER: "Well, the point is that we need a ruling and we need some kind of consensus. And listen, I am pro-life. I believe that when you look at an ultrasound and you see a heartbeat, that is a life. But this Texas law does not foster a culture of life. It fosters a culture of divisiveness, vigilantism. And the fact that Gavin Newsom says oh, what a great idea, let’s do that to enforce my pet issues. That is a disaster. You do not answer bad laws with more bad laws. And I am very fearful that going into 2022 when the court does rule, I think they will gut Roe in some way, and then we will not have a nationwide debate about abortion, we’ll have a 50-state debate about abortion. And now, might apply those tactics to other divisive issues like gun rights, I mean, this is a recipe for a disaster."
