CBS: Lion-Killing Dentist Closes Office and Goes into Hiding

ROSE: “…The death of Cecil the lion sparked worldwide outrage. There are growing calls for Minnesota dentist Walker Palmer to be brought to justice for hunting the animal. Ashley Roberts of our Minneapolis station WCCO is outside the dentist's office in Bloomington. Ashley, good morning.”

ROBERTS: “Good morning. Since being linked to Cecil’s death, Dr. Walker Palmer has shuttered his office and gone into hiding, but that still hasn't stopped people from holding angry demonstrations.”

ROBERTS (voice-over): “The hunter now finds himself in the cross hairs. Protesters descended on Walker Palmer’s dental office Wednesday and invented their anger.”

UNKNOWN FEMALE: “These pearly whites will be going elsewhere from now on."

ROBERTS (voice-over): “In an e-mail to his patients Palmer said ‘A substantial number of comments and calls from people who are engaged by this situation and by the practice of hunting general -- has disrupted our business and our ability to see our patients.’ Earlier this month Palmer lured Cecil out of a protective reserve and then shot, beheaded and skinned the lion at national treasure in Zimbabwe.”
