NBC’s Ben Collins: ‘QAnon Is Just Pizzagate with a Hero, It’s Donald Trump’

‘These things can go away but they can morph and turn into something scarier’

EXCERPT:

COLLINS: “It's a really good question. You know, these conspiracy theories don’t end, and militia groups don’t stop recruiting. I will say PizzaGate, which is the fundament of QAnon, it's a very basis of it, that was banned from social media in December of 2016. Ten months passed and then QAnon came about. QAnon is just PizzaGate with a hero, it's Donald Trump and you know, set dates of which things are supposed to happen. So these things can go away but they can morph, they can turn into something scarier. And they can align with more dangerous movements. That's what happened over the last four years. Maybe we can break the cycle now that we’re taking it seriously.”
