SANDERS: “I should tell you that I spent some six months of my life as a young man in Israel. I’ve got a cousin who lives in Israel. And I will do everything I can to protect the Independence security of the people of Israel. Israelis have the right to live in a safe and secure nation. But I must tell you this also. That to be for the Israeli people and to be for peace in the Middle East does not mean that we have to support right-wing racist governments that currently exist in Israel.”
