Heritage’s Walters: U.S. Has ‘Moral Obligation to Punish’ China for Rights Violations
‘It should be done outside of the context of the trade negotiations’
EXCERPT:
WALTERS: “There's a bit of a difference here as I think at least for the United States, we have a moral obligation here to punish China, and the way that they abuse the minorities within China, and so the U.S. is just responding to that. And so it’s honestly a long overdue. And so it should be done outside of the context of the trade negotiations. We should be punishing China for these human rights violations, whether there’s a trade deal or not."
