    EXCERPT:

BOOKER: "Well, I’ve said my piece on this. I was very surprised by that. He reached out, we had a conversation about it, very constructive conversation. At the end of the day, I will never apologize for speaking truth to power. And somebody running for president of the United States shouldn’t have to have it explained to them that when somebody calls you son and not boy, this is what he evoked, it’s because that white segregationist, that white supremacist sees himself in you. When he calls black men boy, it’s because he’s trying to dehumanize and degrade them.”
