John Bolton: I Think What Happened Yesterday Shows Just How Weak Maduro Is

‘54 mostly democratic countries recognized Guido as legitimate president’

EXCERPT:

BOLTON: "No, I don’t think it is. Remember, the Chavez-Maduro regime has been in power for 20 years. This particular struggle against it has only been three months in the making. And I think what happened yesterday was it shows just how weak Maduro is. Guaido is out walking the streets of Caracas. Maduro is in what's called Fort Tiuna, which is a military facility, it has a military prison. But among other things, it's a principal headquarters for the Cuban forces in Venezuela. So as a demonstration, Maduro was afraid of being protected by his own military, he needed the Cubans around him. This is not sustainable. The economic situation of the country after 20 years of Chavez and Maduro and their supporters looting it has brought the people to a really pathetic state. I don’t think this is going to endure much longer."
