SCHAKOWSKY: "I’ll be very brief. I also want to thank John Brennan, former head of the CIA, and he used a word that is starting to pop up now and that word is treason. I used it in a statement that I made by saying, this goes beyond incompetence and it borders on treason. And guess what the responses were. They said, what do you mean it borders on treason? Those -- that’s the kind of feedback I got from people who looked at what I was -- what I was saying. We have reached a number of inflection points, points where we thought something now was going to happen with the — as a result of the actions of the president of the United States. If we in the United States Congress let this moment go by without anything being done about it, then shame on all of us, because when the president of the United States speaks, he does speak in the name of our country and we must act."
