    RUSH EXCERPT:

ORTAGUS: "I think the Russians have been completely cut out in a sense publicly from these negotiations. Behind the scenes, let's not be naive. I'm sure they're consulting with the North Koreans. There's so much to impact here now. It's not just about nuclear weapons. It's about human rights and ballistic missiles and chemical weapons. You're not talking about Saddam that pretended to have a few weapons and the Libyans that were on an elementary path compared to where the north Koreans are. The administration and I find the rhetoric to be very straightforward. They're saying this has to be irreversible denuclearization. This has to be complete. The language they're using is incredibly tough. I think the president knows how to get to a deal and one of the things for me, you know, the comforting is that you see people like Ambassador Bolton that has their number, he know what's the North Koreans are up to. He has a lot of strong people on his side. The one thing I would say, reiterate, the status quo, what is existed the past 30 years cannot continue to go on. We cannot have what we did in the Iran deal."
